Waste of money

The assembly instructions are incorrect with the actual orientation of the product, and it’s a cheap piece of plastic with the equivalent of a hair tie as a “bungee”. You should be ashamed to rip people off with a product like this.

Delta HL 6300 phone holder for mike

This holder has a plastic lock that cracks if and significant pressure applied I bought 2 of these and both failed after a while as the locking mechanism is plastic and hard to turn hence it broke twice. Tried riding without the locking piece and phone falls out on rough or bumpy roads.

Hefty deluxe phone holder

When I bought the phone holder I thought it was the finest best phone holder I had ever used and I've had several over the years. However, upon completing my first long distance tour using this holder. I had 2 major problems first.The rotating Phone lock broke off after maybe 50 cycles

use the phone holder. The second major problem, And this was the one of most concerned, was the rubber strap that attaches the holder to the handlebars ripped,
And became separated. Now the phone holder was just flapping around.
Making it virtually unusable. It is my understanding that there is a Limited lifetime warranty.Whatever that means, be that it as it may. I am reaching out to the company and seeing how they respond, and if they stand behind that product. Be sure to check your social media feeds as I will be Posting a reporting as to the outcome of how I am Treated by this company.
I am hoping that they stand behind their product as I believe it is a very well made product.However, it does need to be redesigned.In some ways to strengthen these defective areas hopefully they will address this problem going forward and at least replace the broken ports for customers until they do. Q: What is the little spout-looking thing on the bottom right corner? Does it matter if it's installed so it is in the top left corner? I have limited room on my handlebar and it fits better if turned upside down.

A: We do believe you're referring to the locking mechanism. If it's the locking mechanism then when it's at the bottom right the phone holder will open upwards. If you flip it upside down it will open downwards. Either way will work, you just need to make sure that the phone holder is locked when the phone is inserted. Q: Too many reviews stating that the lock broke or this & that no longer functions. Your responses to those issues are less than specific in what you did to correct the situation. Just tell me Delta has a lifetime replacement policy for normal product malfunctions (not a crash, bike drop, etc) and I will buy one. I want to be assured that if something is a design flaw (fatigue, UV embrittlement, etc) that Delta will keep replacing.

A: We understand that sometimes issues come up that are user error, but we have also made vast improvements to the design of the Hefty+, but while our products are sold through online distributors and local shops, we cannot guarantee what model or version of the product will be sold at the time, which is why we back the product with a limited lifetime guarantee. As older versions 'age out' or are out of circulation, there should be no similar issues now that the product has been improved.

Q: What did you do to the design on the Hefty + that solved the problem of the lock breaking? Is it now metal?

A: There was no metal added. We reinforced the material on the back and made the locking mechanism have more play in it, so it would not put so much pressure on the plastic. It still locks well, but is easier to engage and has a much lower failure rate.
