e-Bikes

What is the difference between the mDrive and rDrive e-bike?
The rDrive has a rear hub drive motor. Rear hub motors provide excellent value and performance. They are easy to service and maintain, and push the bike forward by driving the rear wheel. The mDrive utilizes a mid-drive motor powering the bike through the crankset, which turns the chain to drive the rear wheel. Mid-drive motors provide a smooth power delivery and a low center of gravity providing a more controlled ride.

Does my e-bike need to be adjusted when it arrives?
Our Bikes require minimal assembly. The battery, front wheel, seatpost, stem, handlebars, and pedals need to be installed. All other parts are pre-assembled and tuned. A thorough instruction manual as well as installation video are provided to show how to make adjustments to your handlebar and seat height if needed, and customers may opt for professional assembly at checkout.

Can I test ride an e-bike?
We do not have a physical location for a customer to test out the e-bikes. Orders can be returned for a refund within 30 days from receipt. Orders must be returned to delta in their original packaging at the expense of the customer. Please visit our ‘terms and conditions’ for more information.

Where can I learn about the motors and batteries the e-bikes use?
The product page for each bicycle model highlights the motor and battery specifications including voltage, watts, torque, charge time, and range.

What are the specifications on the batteries?
Our batteries are 11.0ah, 36V, 396Wh, Smart BMS Battery.

How long will it take to charge the battery?
It takes 4 to 6 hours to reach full charge on the battery.

How many charge cycles will the battery be good for?
It will be good for 1,000 cycles.

Do e-bikes have gears?
Yes, both mDrive and rDrive have 7 gears.

Do e-bikes require maintenance?
Regular checks and maintenance should be performed on all bikes to ensure smooth operation and safety. Please refer to page 27 of our instruction manual for details.

Can I carry things or passengers on my e-bike?
Rider and luggage combined capacity is 312lbs, with a rack capacity of 55lbs for each e-bike model. One rider permitted on each bike at a time.

Where can I find the serial number on my e-bike?
Your e-bike is provided with a serial number. It is located on the left side of the seat tube. It’s recommended you make a note of this number within the pages of the user manual. Please refer to your post-purchase email to register your battery and motor.

Do e-bikes work in cold weather, rain or on hills?
Delta has tested our e-bikes in rough conditions, including rain or snow, and they perform without issue. While the risk of an accident is dramatically increased in wet conditions, we encourage riders to take proper precautions. Our motors are water resistant, but motors and batteries should never be submerged in water.

Are there any age restrictions to riding an e-bike?
E-bikes are powerful and not meant to be used by kids under the age of 16. Local laws and regulations may further restrict their use, based on a rider’s age. Please refer to your specific state laws.
